SYNOPSIS : What kind of world will we choose to create together? The experimental music film is inspired by the Homeric Hymn to Demeter (c. seventh century BCE) which tells a mother-daughter passion play of abduction, loss, and renewal. Ceremonial rites enacting the myth were held at Eleusis in Greece for a thousand years before the rise of Christianity, and artists, then and now, freely interpret the story. We have very few details about the original events, but they were thought to be transformational for participants, honoring the cycle of life and offering a philosophy based in meaning and hope.Shot on location at the iconic and labyrinthine old grain factory: The Silos at Sawyer Yards, Houston, Texas.
